40 Days of Good for 40 Years of Service: Celebrating RideFinders 40th Anniversary
Sep 27, 2021
RideFinders is celebrating its 40th anniversary with 40 Days of Good for 40 Years of Service. Starting Monday, October 11, 2021 through its November 19 anniversary date, RideFinders asks Central Virginia citizens to help celebrate its anniversary by doing the following: (1) doing something good in their community, the environment, or for their neighbor such as taking "greener" trips and recording those trips, donating to a local food bank, planting trees in the community, gifting someone a bikeshare ride, and (2), sharing their good deed on social media using the hashtag #40for40ridefinders. Please follow all local, state, and Center for Disease Control pandemic safety guidelines.
“RideFinders has been in the business of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and roadway maximization in this community for 40 years! I’m proud of the work we do for and in the greater Richmond community and their continued support,” said Von Tisdale, RideFinders Executive Director. “As the region’s free ridesharing and mobility resource, we have encouraged commuters to share the ride, bike and telework to help reduce traffic congestion and air pollution emissions for the good of the environment. And now we’re asking the community to do something good for their fellow humans and participate in our 40 Days of Good for 40 Years of Service.”
While the agency’s main focus is taking single-occupancy vehicles off the roadways to reduce congestion and vehicle emissions, the pandemic has made the agency realize the need for environmental consciousness that extends beyond the work commute. RideFinders offers a comprehensive suite of services that contribute to the public health and safety and the quality of life and well- being for the communities, businesses, and individuals they serve. RideFinders will continue to align with serving our customers, partners and stakeholders in an efficient and effective manner while investing in the community.
