Celebrate TDM Week September 18 - 22
Aug 29, 2023
Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Week, September 18 – 22, 2023, provides an opportunity to learn more about the importance of using alternative modes of transportation to help reduce our environmental impact on the planet and to improve the quality of life for citizens. The week also serves to highlight and celebrate the many personal and societal benefits delivered by TDM. TDM Week is sponsored by the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT).
Environmental stewardship such as reducing your carbon footprint and helping lower emissions, improving air quality, reducing traffic congestion and providing affordable mobility options even in the transportation planning process is vitally important to TDM. Carpooling, vanpooling, taking transit, biking (including bikeshares), walking, teleworking, scooting, and riding the train are examples of alternatives to driving alone – a cornerstone of TDM. These transportation options provide not only commuters, but the community the chance to connect with their region through jobs, shopping, exploring, community events, and a host of other opportunities.
TDM also encourages employers to provide its employees with transportation information and programs, onsite access to TDM commuter service agencies like RideFinders, and incentives to adopt trip reduction programs.
RideFinders efforts help increase the efficiency of our multimodal transportation infrastructure, improve the air we breathe, enhance the quality of life of citizens, and help sustain a healthy economy. Celebrate TDM Week with YOUR Team RideFinders on our social media platforms!
