National Young Readers Week is This Week

National Young Readers Week is this week, November 9-13, 2020. This is a week dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of reading and promoting literacy for children of all ages. Reading supports language and literacy skills. The earlier parents read aloud to their children, the more it strengthens their brain development, too.

Since our “Celebrate Earth Day, Every Day” Clean Air Campaign launched in April, RideFinders has encouraged reading. Our We Read Wednesday was and is a time for us to share fun books with parents, teachers, caregivers and young readers ages eight (8) years old and younger that highlights either transportation such biking, teleworking or walking or “green” environmental activities such as recycling, garden maintenance and energy conservation. Some bookswe shared combined both "green" commuting and green activities. Join us as we continue to promote reading!
