Team RideFinders Wins Award of Excellence

Recently, RideFinders won a Commonwealth Award of Excellence in the Public Service category from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Richmond chapter for the “RideFinders: Cultivating a Culture of Storytelling” Initiative. The award was presented during the 76th Annual Virginia Public Relations Awards.

“We are so delighted and humbled to be a recipient of this award from such a prestigious organization,” said Von Tisdale, executive director of RideFinders, “This recognition commemorates and highlights our commitment to providing meaningful services and actively engaging with community partners as we collaborate on this path to a more sustainable region. Kudos to the (com)passionate Team RideFinders!”  

The Commonwealth Awards recognizes exceptional public relations campaigns that demonstrated a high level of creativity and originality and follows a four-step process to include research and measurable goals and objectives that changed attitudes or behaviors or incited a desired action.

RideFinders: Cultivating a Culture of Storytelling initiative’s communications plan reached key targeted audiences-commuters, the community space, businesses, stakeholders, and regional transportation leaders through a holistic, reinvigorated approach to telling the green commuting story while also showcasing the sustainability practices of community partners. Campaign components utilized multiple communications platforms, staff participation and a comprehensive list of public relations and marketing tactics. The incorporation of Be the CEO of Your Commute, Way to Go Wednesday, Monthly Recaps, the Annual Report, partnership outreach, Green is Our Thing Clean Air Campaign, Caring Commutes Month, and website enhancements were key factors in the success of the initiative. All creative content, public relations and marketing efforts were done in-house.
