Try Transit Week is a Win-Win for Riders

Try Transit Week provides a great time for commuters to save money, help the environment and get rewarded for their efforts! There are two exciting opportunities for which riders can take advantage. First, we encourage YOU to join the Try Transit Challenge during the statewide Try Transit Week, September 17 -21 by recording your transit trips. Those participating in the challenge, simply log into your existing RideFinders account or create a new, FREE account and start recording your transit trips on the convenient trip calendar. Registration is free and recording a trip only takes a few minutes. Participants can qualify for fun prizes! Prizes are awarded through randomly selected drawings, even if they are current transit riders.

Second, commuters can also pledge to try transit during Try Transit Week by visiting www.trytransitweek.org. Participants are automatically entered for a chance to win a year of free transit service from participating Virginia transit operators as well as a pair of round-trip Amtrak tickets aboard Virginia’s state-sponsored Northeast Regional train and other fun prizes. Pledges will be accepted through September 21, 2018.

Try Transit Week is a week-long educational event designed to encourage Virginians to try a form of public transportation such as bus or rail or vanpool and is sponsored by the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation.
