Virginia Telework Week is March 5-9
Feb 28, 2018
The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) is pleased to announce that March 5 – 9, 2018 is Telework Week in Virginia. DRPT and commuter assistance agencies across the Commonwealth are encouraging Virginia businesses to explore teleworking first-hand by allowing eligible employees to telework at least one day that week.
“DRPT is proud to sponsor Telework Week in Virginia for the eighth consecutive year. Allowing employees more control over their work environments results in both benefits for themselves and the businesses that employ them,” said DRPT Director Jennifer Mitchell.
By embracing, establishing, and implementing telework programs for their employees, businesses in Virginia can take advantage of the many significant benefits of telework. Allowing employees to work from home one day a week can improve employee morale, increase employee retention, reduce traffic congestion, and expand the pool of prospective employee candidates.
Businesses in Virginia should consider how telework might boost their bottom line. Tax credits, up to $50,000 per organization, can be claimed for eligible telework expenses, including up to $20,000 for conducting a telework assessment.
