We Read Wednesdays
“We Read Wednesdays," an initiative that started as part of RideFinders Clean Air Campaign, is designed to encourage reading while providing a resource for educators and parents of children eight years and younger to learn about “green" commuting such as biking and walking, and "green" actions such as recycling. "Green" commuting and "green" activities are planet-friendly actions that teaches us how to be kind to the Earth. With the popularity of this special initiative, RideFinders has continued to share informative and fun books while highlighting the importance of reading aloud. Studies show that reading aloud (with mom, dad or other family members) is the most important activity when it comes to preparing children to read on their own.
While RideFinders Executive Director (Von Tisdale), Program Manager (Cherika Ruffin) and one of our Account Executives (Brigitte Carter) alternate reading, there have been a few guest readers! Please click on the links below to hear these stories. *We do not own the rights to these books.
